AWS networking event: Deriv Dubai hosts the 39th AWS user group meetup
Bridging the gap for tech enthusiasts
We are excited to share the success of our latest AWS user group meetup held in Dubai on 10 August 2024. This AWS community-led event, hosted by Deriv’s Akhil John and Bassam El Obeid, brought together 45 tech enthusiasts from across the UAE. Everyone was eager to explore AWS advancements and experience the insightful presentations.
Deep dives with AWS experts
Kunal Shah, an AWS Cloud Solutions Architect from Huco, started the session exploring AWS Landing Zone. He emphasised the intricacies and best practices of setting up a secure, multi-account AWS environment. Next, Isham Rashik, a Machine Learning Engineer from Newsreels, discussed AWS Bedrock. He demonstrated its capabilities through a demo of his YouTube Notes Generator project, showcasing practical applications in text classification and entity recognition. These sessions provided valuable insights and real-world examples, inspiring attendees to apply their new knowledge.
AWS enthusiasts connect over key topics
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for attendees to connect with the local AWS community. A relaxed setting, complemented by a delightful lunch buffet, encouraged participants to share experiences and discuss hot topics like AWS Landing Zone and AWS Bedrock. The sense of camaraderie and community spirit was palpable, highlighting the importance of such events in fostering a thriving tech ecosystem.
